Intellectual property is a decisive asset in a high-innovation market such as Power Generation. With its portfolio of over 2,000 patents and 200 trademarks currently in force, the Ansaldo Energia Group ranks among the few Companies in the industry that cover all technologies with in-house know-how. 
The Group’s patent portfolio is still strongly founded on turbogas technology and plants, for historical reasons, but in the last years more than half of new deposits are in the areas of digital and green solutions.
The Ansaldo Energia Intellectual Property Unit takes care of the patent filing process and the management of the patent portfolio in accordance with strategic priorities – but also identifies risks and opportunities in the technology scenario, promotes innovative ideas, develops specific actions for technology transfer and negotiates license agreements.
