Ansaldo Energia Group, represented by Chairman Lorenza Franca Franzino and Ansaldo Nucleare CEO Riccardo Casale, participated yesterday in the Bilateral Conference on Ukraine Reconstruction held in Rome. For Italy, in attendance were Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Vice-Premier Matteo Salvini, Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, Minister of the Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti, and Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso. The Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba among others, represented Kiev government.
The event brought together more than 600 Italian companies and 150 Ukrainian companies that, on the sidelines of the institutional speeches, were able to initiate the first discussions on the reconstruction and restart of the country involved in the war conflict.
For our Group, the conference was an opportunity to delve into initiatives to support reconstruction related in particular to the energy sector, discussed together with Kiev government officials and top managers of Ukrainian companies.
Ansaldo Energia, together with Ansaldo Nucleare and Ansaldo Green Tech, wants to be part of the path mapped out for Ukraine's future: the support for Ukraine's energy infrastructure will actually have to be concrete and immediate, and necessarily follow the path of decarbonization.
In this view, our transversal expertise in power generation can play a crucial role and facilitate the ambitious goal that the government in Kiev wants to pursue as soon as possible, hoping for a short-term resolution of the conflict: to rebuild "better and green," to make Ukraine a real hub of innovations and new technologies for clean energy.
