"Turnkey" Long Term Service Agreements

Ansaldo Energia, leading company in the field of energy generation and 88% controlled by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, has been awarded a twenty-year contract for the maintenance of the gas turbines of the "6th October" power plant, owned by Cairo Electricity Production Company, located on the outskirts of Cairo.

The plant consists of an open cycle and a combined cycle phase, manufactured by Ansaldo Energia starting from 2014.  Each of the two phases is equipped with four AE 94.2 gas turbines built at the Ansaldo Energia site in Genoa. The turbines were already covered by two expiring “Frame Agreements” service contracts.

The new agreement is a "turnkey" Long Term Service Agreements, covers all eight gas turbines of the plant, providing for complete parts supply, service activities for scheduled maintenance, repair of vanes, spare parts, instrumentation and training activities for the local staff working in the plant.

“Service is a strategic asset for Ansaldo Energia, strengthening long term relationship with key customers and paving the road to keep enhancing our products” says Giuseppe Marino, CEO of Ansaldo Energia, commenting this signature.

"Achieving this objective has a strategic value for us: indeed, it represents a concrete appreciation of our work by Cairo Electricity Production Company, so much so that we have been confirmed for the maintenance of the ‘heart’ of their plant" says Stefano Gianatti, Executive Vice President for Global Service of Ansaldo Energia. "The ability to be chosen as a long-term partner for the maintenance of critical assets such as gas turbines, is an evident recognition of our professionalism and skills, in an extremely competitive sector. We are pleased to have met their expectations”.
