Reggio Emilia, 4 August 2022 - The first parallel of the steam turbine of the new combined cycle of the Turbigo thermoelectric plant took place a few days ago.
With this achievement, Iren takes another important step towards the completion and full operation of the new 430 MW plant which will bring the overall power of the plant to approximately 1,280 MW.
Ansaldo Energia provided Iren with the supply and installation of the main components of the new plant (the AE94.3A gas turbine, the generators, the step-up transformers, the recovery steam generator) as well as civil works construction, assembly and supply of electrical and mechanical auxiliary systems.
The Turbigo Plant repowering is part of the overall strategy that the Iren Group has developed in its Industrial Plan @2030, to accompany with the right energy balance the transition to electricity generation from renewable sources, of which Iren is a candidate to be one of the main national players.
