The program, developed in close collaboration between Ansaldo Nucleare and the Politecnico di Milano entails a total of 1,500 hours of study

There are 26 participants in the “Master in Technologies for Nuclear Power Plants,” promoted by Ansaldo Nucleare and the Politecnico di Milano, which was inaugurated today during a ceremony held at the Ansaldo Energia headquarters. The call for applications to the Master’s program, designed to train a new generation of experts in the nuclear energy field and aimed at graduates in Engineering, Physics, and Chemistry, was launched last May and attracted more than 300 applications within just a few weeks.

All the selected candidates have already been hired on permanent contracts by Ansaldo Nucleare, which will gradually involve them in its industrial and technological development projects. Among the 26 participants in the Master’s program, there are 5 women and 21 men.

The Master’s program, developed in close collaboration between Ansaldo Nucleare and the Politecnico di Milano and coordinated by Professor Marco Ricotti, entails a total of 1,500 hours of study, including almost 400 hours of lectures. These will be delivered by professors from the Milanese university, members of the university consortium CIRTEN (International Consortium for Nuclear Technology Research), professors from the University of Genoa, researchers from the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), as well as experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Italian Nuclear Association (AIN), SOGIN-Nucleco, and the Joint Research Center.

“With this project, we wanted to make a tangible contribution to the training of young professionals in the nuclear field, which is experiencing renewed global interest and where our company is playing a leading role in important projects,” commented Daniela Gentile, CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare. “We are also proud to have attracted to Genoa talented young people who will further enrich the already strong ecosystem of nuclear expertise present in our city.”

Speakers at the ceremony included: Fabrizio Fabbri (CEO of Ansaldo Energia), Silvia Salis (Mayor of Genoa), Paolo Ripamonti (Regional Councillor for Energy, Liguria Region), Senator Maria Alessandra Gallone (Advisor to the Italian Minister of University and Research), Daniela Gentile (CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare), Stefano Monti (President of the Italian Nuclear Association), Aurelio Regina (President of Fondimpresa and Chairman of the Confindustria Energy Technical Group), Irma Belardi (Head of People Development, Ansaldo Energia), Marco Ricotti (Director of the Master’s Program, President of the CIRTEN Consortium, and Full Professor of Nuclear Systems at the Politecnico di Milano), Michele Frignani (Deputy Director of the Master’s Program and Vice President Nuclear Technologies and Product Development of Ansaldo Nucleare), and Vittorio Braccia and Federica Zanone (representing the Master’s participants).
