Ansaldo Energia has signed a contract with Pacifico Energy for the supply of eight AE64.3A gas turbines in a 60 Hz configuration, together with the associated generators, for a strategic power generation project supporting a major data center infrastructure in Texas. The agreement represents a significant milestone for Ansaldo Energia, marking the company’s return to the USA new-build power generation market after more than thirty years. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.
AE64.3A is the small F-class gas turbine in Ansaldo Energia’s portfolio, specifically suited for 60 Hz applications through its gearbox-based configuration and dedicated generator package. With more than 70 units installed worldwide and over 4 million equivalent operating hours, AE64.3A combines proven reliability, operational flexibility and fast-start capability. Its power output range, fuel flexibility and operational versatility make it particularly well suited to the modular and redundant architectures typically adopted by data centers, both for grid-connected and Behind-the-Meter (BTM) applications. AE64.3A can also support cogeneration configurations, enabling customers to maximize overall energy efficiency while ensuring the high availability required by critical digital infrastructure.

The agreement is expected to serve as a foundation for further collaboration between Ansaldo Energia and Pacifico Energy, with potential opportunities for additional projects linked to the rapidly expanding data center market.
