Spare Parts
Spare Parts represent the foundation on top of which
Ansaldo Energia deploys its maintenance service.
Ansaldo Energia’s database for managing catalogues holds
some 300 catalogues covering a vast equipment/technology
fleet among the most common and proliferating technologies,
both proprietary and non-proprietary.
In order to improve its market presence and ease its relation
with the Customers, Ansaldo offers an e-Catalogue that
facilitates and simplifies the Spare Parts stock and supply.
By making available the equipment list and the database access through an extranet interface, Ansaldo allows its
Customers to retrieve in a controlled manner their plant Spare Parts, identify uniquely their spares and the corresponding
delivery time, and communicate on-line with Ansaldo Energia up to finalising the purchase transaction.
The e-Catalogue is currently under testing and will be operational by the end of 2005.
Among the most recent innovations and improvements, a focal one is the Spare Parts stock container, managed
through the Spare Parts data base. Such an arrangement, already practised, allows to follow each spare part’s path,
its availability, the exact location and the replacement necessity.
Ansaldo’s integrated Spare Parts management via container, allows to convey to the relevant site all the necessary
equipment for a real-time revision activity, thus limiting the Customer’s expenditure to the utilised equipment.
This new concept removes the need to purchase upfront large quantities of spare parts and reduces the maintenance equipment expenditure to exactly what
is required. As a result, the plant operational expenditures are soundly minimised. In 2004, Ansaldo Energia successfully handled some 20,000
Spare Parts orders for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Hydro and Turbo-generators and Balance of Plants. |
