History

Ansaldo began life in 1853 and since then its own history has reflected that of Italian industry as a whole. Over the years the company has made significant contributions to the key mechanical, naval and electrical engineering sectors. From the steam boilers of the industrial revolution to today's thermoelectric power plants: for one hundred and fifty years Ansaldo has been at the cutting edge of the modernisation course and socio-economic development which have led to contemporary Italy.
