Ansaldo Energia continues to pursue an Independent Service Provider Strategy, with the two main goals of developing fully independent power generation technology and radically strengthening its Service expertise. The acquisition from US-based Calpine European Finance LLC of the entire share capital in Thomassen Turbine System B.V. (TTS), the Dutch gas turbine service specialist, has now been completed. This follows on from the recent acquisition of 100% of Swiss Energy Service Group (ESG), which works in the on-site maintenance and repair sector, opening up the possibility of substantial business synergy in Italy and abroad, as well as contributing to raising the international profile and visibility of the group.

Ansaldo Ricerche has now also become a member of the Ansaldo Energia family, with a mission to satisfy domestic and European demand for advanced technology services, also in the framework of public research programmes, by enhancing the value of its expertise in thermal-electromechanics, power electronics and system integration. Its aim is to create value by focusing on the core business of Ansaldo Energia, on spin-off activities and on the sale of products and technologies developed internally. Most work is in the energy sector: combustion and energy recovery, the production, distribution and use of electric power, nuclear fusion. Ansaldo Ricerche joins Ansaldo Nucleare, which handles all work in the nuclear sector and has a mission to pursue business volume growth in three strategic segments: new plants, decommissioning & radwaste treatment, service work for active nuclear power stations. The Italian and international situation encourages us to continue to preserve and enhance the value of this heritage of knowledge and skill, which represents a significant industrial asset for Ansaldo Energia at both domestic and European levels.
